Senior Director, Global Communications

Position Overview:

Covetrus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Employee Communications to join our dynamic and growing team. As the Senior Director, you will play a critical role in driving internal communications strategies and initiatives that foster a positive, engaged, and informed workforce globally. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Global Communications and Employee Engagement, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, senior executives, and department heads to ensure effective and consistent communication across the organization. This position is a unique opportunity to shape and elevate the employee experience and work closely with the senior leadership team at Covetrus, a leading global animal health technology and services company.

Key Responsibilities:

* Internal Communications Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with Covetrus' vision, mission, and core values. Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, alignment, and understanding of the company's strategic priorities.

* Executive Communication: Partner with senior leadership, including the CEO and President, North America, to craft impactful and authentic messages that cascade throughout the organization. Assist in preparing leaders for town hall meetings, employee forums, and other communication events.

* Employee Engagement Campaigns: Lead the creation and implementation of employee engagement campaigns, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Utilize various channels, including intranet, email, Slack, video, and social media, to deliver compelling content and ensure messages resonate with teams across the company.

* Change Management Communications: Play a key role in change management initiatives by developing communication plans to support organizational changes, such as mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and process improvements. Effectively manage communication during times of change to mitigate resistance and drive acceptance.

* Content Creation and Editorial Oversight: Oversee the development and maintenance of internal communications content. Ensure content is creative, accurate, consistent, and aligned with the company's brand and values. Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to produce engaging and relevant content.

* Internal Events and Recognition: Lead the planning and execution of internal events and recognition that celebrate employee achievements, foster team spirit, and strengthen the sense of belonging among employees.

* Measurement and Analysis: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications initiatives. Use data and feedback to make data-driven decisions and continuously improve communication efforts.

* Employee Feedback and Listening Strategies: Work with the broader HR team to develop mechanisms for gathering employee feedback and insights, such as surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one conversations. Leverage this feedback to improve communication practices and enhance the overall employee experience.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field.

* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in employee communications or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.

* Experience building, developing and leading a team.

* Proven track record of developing and executing successful internal communications strategies in a large, complex organization.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences and platforms.

* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives and stakeholders across diverse functional areas.

* Experience in change management communications and managing communications during times of organizational transformation.

* Familiarity with various communication tools and platforms, including intranet, social media, email marketing, and multimedia content creation.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

* A passion for employee engagement, organizational culture, and driving a positive employee experience.

* Previous experience in the animal health or healthcare industry is a plus but not mandatory.

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.

However, the pay range for this position is as follows.

$155,100.00 - $288,000.00
