Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Research Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python programming, textual analysis, machine learning, topic modeling, natural language processing (NLP), and network analysis. This role involves contributing to cutting-edge research projects, developing innovative analytical methodologies, and analyzing complex datasets to extract meaningful insights.

Essential Functions:

Data Analysis and Modeling: Apply advanced data analysis and statistical techniques to process, analyze, and interpret large datasets. Utilize machine learning and NLP methodologies to uncover patterns, trends, and insights.
- Algorithm Development: Design and implement algorithms for textual analysis, topic modeling, and network analysis projects. Ensure algorithms are efficient, scalable, and reproducible.
- Research Support: Assist in the planning and execution of research projects, including literature review, experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
- Coding and Development: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code primarily in Python. Develop and maintain software tools, scripts, and pipelines for research purposes.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, including experience with libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch for machine learning and NLTK, spaCy, or similar for NLP.
- Experience: Proven experience in textual analysis, topic modeling, machine learning, and natural language processing. Familiarity with network analysis is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets to draw conclusions and support decisionmaking. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.

demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of
education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in
the position.
