Project Overview and Role:

The Data, Informatics and Analytical Solutions
Practice (DIAS) at Palladium currently is seeking a consultant to provide translation
services on an as needed basis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Translate a variety of
documents including technical reports, briefs, success stories, e-newsletters, assessment
tools, surveys, marketing and promotional materials, and other project-related documents.
Specifically, he/she will:

  • Provide translation support (Spanish into English) for Data, Informatics and Analytical Solutions (DIAS), including the Data for Implementation (Data.FI) Project, and business development publications, including reports, briefs, and PowerPoint presentations in compliance with donor branding guidelines and organizational policies
  • Translate text for infographics, charts, maps, and other visual content in succinct, compelling, user-friendly headers and text for non-technical and technical audiences
  • Assist publications review to amplify impact, consistent with client
    branding and marking requirements.

Period of Performance:
This consultancy is for a maximum of 45 days
between March 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023.

Key competencies and professional expertise required:

  • American Translation Association (ATA) certification required
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Proven ability to translate subject matter related to data science, digital health, monitoring and evaluation, and terms frequently used in international development and global health
  • Ability to write in the destination language with correct spelling and capitalization, grammatically, and elegantly, reflecting the original content faithfully while expressing content normatively in the destination language
  • Minimum five years of translation experience (Spanish -> English)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage priorities and maintain schedules under tight deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated and proven ability to work independently and skilled at handling multiple tasks
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English languages required
