Director, IMS Solutions

Position Description:
The Director oversees the development of new solutions and services for alternative investment manager clients of the Investment Manager Services (IMS) division. The Director is responsible for fully understanding and interpreting emerging market requirements in the alternative investments industry. The Director must understand if current IMS solutions and services can address those requirements and, if not, make a business case for service evolution. Pending business case approval, the Director will work internal platform and operations teams to translate market requirements into documented business specifications. At service launch, the Director will develop materials to equip sales and relationship teams to deliver the services to our client base.
What you'll do:
  • You will conduct research to identify market trends and priorities
  • You will establish and maintain relationships with consulting firms and Centers of Influence
  • You will attend industry conferences and related events to keep pace with market advancements
  • You will define market strategies for IMS's hedge and private equity business lines
  • You will liaise with sales and relationship personnel to identify new service opportunities within our existing client base
  • You will speak with clients and prospects about how emerging market needs impact the trajectory of their business
  • You will develop and present business cases for potential new solution development
  • You will analyze and document requirements for new service development, e.g. technology components, integration requirements, operational model, support model, legal and compliance considerations, etc.
  • You will develop packaging for new solutions & services, e.g. service definitions, product sheets, cost models, pricing structures, sales collateral
  • You will conduct research on IMS competitors, understand their relative positioning in the market, and understand IMS solution gaps relative to the competition

Departmental Leadership:
  • You will create, communicate, monitor and reinforce departmental vision, goals and objectives.
  • You will lead solution development initiatives to ensure that IMS service capabilities keep pace with industry demands.
  • You will actively participate in unit's weekly senior management meetings and initiatives
  • You will participate in management skills training and development of staff
  • You will set and enforce departmental policies
Sales Support:
  • You will help craft responses to RFP's and RFI's
  • You will participate in site visits and presentations to prospective clients

What you bring to the table:
  • BA / BS degree in finance, accounting or related industry
  • 8-10 years of experience in the wealth management industry with management experience
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of alternative product structures and servicing requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of alternative investment product investor lifecycle
  • Experience managing relationships with vendor partners
  • Dedication to customer-centric solution design and development
  • Initiative and accountability of assigned responsibilities
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational skills
