DROP-IN CHILDCARE ASSISTANT-RECREATION CENTERS (TEMPORARY)

PRCS is seeking Childcare Assistants to join our Drop-In Childcare program located in our Recreations Centers. If you enjoy working with children ages 1 to 11, are able to foresee potential problems and have the specialty skills needed to solve them, then this could be the position you've been looking for. Careful planning and the ability to anticipate issues are qualities we particularly value. People with a proactive work-style are just what our customers expect. Reporting to the Building Services Coordinator, top priorities for this position will include the supervision of children's recreation, and assisting with planning, organizing and maintaining equipment and supplies.

In addition, this position will:

• Clean and maintain an orderly room
• Provide program information as needed
• Demonstrate good communication skills
• Provide excellent customer service

Successful candidates will:

• Work a flexible schedule Monday through Saturday at various locations as needed
• Strive to exceed expectations, foster relationships with positive and effective communication, demonstrate competency working with innovative and evolving technology and equipment

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
• Applicants that have completed the 10th grade AND have six months of childcare experience may be considered for Drop-In Child Care Assistant positions at a lower grade level
• Perform moderate physical activity to include lifting
• Virginia State Licensing requires six months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities

• Criminal background and Child Protective Services (CPS) checks required
• Certification in First Aid, CPR for adult and child within 30 days of employment
• Negative TB test result is required prior to beginning work
