Specialist I, Performance - Institutional Private Client (IPC)

SEI
United States, Pennsylvania, Oaks
1 Freedom Valley Drive (Show on map)
August 12, 2022

When you step into SEI - anywhere in the world - you know you're not inside a traditional financial services company. We have no offices. Our open innovation spaces spur creativity, the provocative artwork inspires conversation, and the flexible work-life balance drives personal and professional growth. We are a place to inspire your work, build your voice, and grow your community. We're different. And we're proud of it.

The Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) at SEI is growing rapidly and is seeking new members on our Institutional Private Client (IPC) and Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) Performance Team. Our primary goal is to provide exceptional investment performance reporting and client service to our institutional and retail clients' asset managers. As a Performance Specialist, you are the face of the quality controls, data governance, reporting deliverables and client service that we provide to our clients every day.

What you'll do:

Your skills in accounting, finance and performance measurement will be used by analyzing performance results calculated by our core portfolio accounting system. You will also be responsible for reviewing daily data governance checks performed by the performance team analysts to ensure that the components of the performance calculation are accurate. In addition, you will be leading special projects, such as client conversions, system enhancements and ad-hoc client requests. Essentially, you are responsible for overseeing much of the work being done by performance team members at the analyst level and will often be the main point of contact with the client.
As a Performance Specialist, you will be overseeing the coordination and support of various year-end audit engagements in accordance with SEC regulations or the GIPS standards. You will also assist in our annual audit of internal controls, SSAE 16. We need your due-diligence to maintain excellence for our clients.
You will correspond with external investment managers regarding day-to-day performance issues, month-end composite calculations, ad-hoc client reporting requests and much more. Client engagement and a dedication to quality service is a must for success.
We want you to succeed and look for future solutions! Through attending and participating in various IMS and corporate professional development sessions, you will acquire the tools to identify processes across the division and organization. You will have the opportunity to partner with a diverse team and grow your career.
What you bring to the table:
BA / BS in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Data Analytics or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.
Strong knowledge of financial, investment industry and/or institutional separate accounts.
CIPM designation (or working toward) a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Access, SQL or Visual Basic skills a plus.
The self-motivation and drive to monitor multiple client deliverables without sacrificing excellence or quality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills as you will primarily support your clients through email and/or phone calls.
Strong customer service skills as you will be communicating daily with internal and external clients.

Attributes we value:
A drive to broaden one's knowledge of the financial services industry by learning new concepts and systems and taking the initiative to apply it to daily work assignments.
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. As the needs of our clients change, we need to be flexible to change with them.
Positivity and collegial approach in assisting both colleagues and clients and the ability to work in team environment.
Curiosity, critical thinking and attention to detail: Whether it's to identify a solution to a problem or possibly help implement a more efficient process or procedure, your skills have a place in our business.
