The Electromechanical System Engineer (ESE) Position focuses on the sales presentation, product training, design, integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of multi-technology motion control and drive solutions provided by Parker Hannifin's Electromechanical & Drives Division. The ESE serves as the technical lead in the field for regional pre and post sales opportunities and provides Electromechanical Territory Managers, OEMs, distributors, integrators, and customers with technical product advice on the total motion or drive system solution.
In addition, the ESE possess the knowledge to not only integrate Parker products into the application but also understands how Parker's products are incorporated into an overall application. This includes the integration of Parker EM&D's products within applications that include 3rd party mechanics, motors, drives, controls, HMIs, pneumatics, and hydraulics
The objective of the ESE position is to help capture, transition, and maintain high potential customers, ensuring future growth and profitability for Parker EM&D. The following represents the essential and most significant duties of this position. It is not intended to exclude other duties, assignments, and responsibilities not mentioned herein:
Provide programming guidance and/or assistance for customers. including competitor/Parker code conversion or startup programming. Provide training to customers, distributors, and other Parker employees on Electromechanical & Drives Division Products. Present products, including proof of concept demonstrations, to customers in assistance with the TM or ATC Salesperson. Provide technical guidance and/or assistance during startups and commissioning as needed. Provide applications support as needed. Assist in creation of marketing collateral as needed (design wins, whitepapers, videos, training docs, FAQ, etc). Provide customer feedback to Product Managers on product needs, benefits, etc. Communicate billable rate to customer when applicable. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and confidentiality agreements. Shares specialized knowledge with others and assists in mentoring new employees. May represent the company on specific projects or engineering tasks Qualifications Engineering or Technical bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience with motion control or industrial control design and commissioning and/or supporting customer applications. Experience in field sales or marketing of technical products is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Motion and machine control programming experience (IEC61131 Preferred) Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Must be able to read and create wiring diagrams and execute as needed Must be able to travel overnight 50% to 70% of time; or as required.Parker is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
