All applicants must possess a valid PA certificate in Speech and Language; a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology or a Masters in Speech Pathology; a valid PA Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred, but not mandatory; excellent organizational and leadership skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; problem-solving abilities; knowledge of program management, school curriculum, and managing/leading personnel, management of school facility, community, County, and State agencies, regulations and standards for Special Education; knowledge of speech and language development therapy, sign language; and an interest in urban education.
To diagnose speech and language disorders and provide direct and indirect services to students through assessment, planning, goal development and the provision of appropriate therapeutic intervention designed to support speech and language development.
