Aerospace's Cybersecurity and Advanced Platforms Subdivision is seeking a Director with experience in COMSEC acquisition and cybersecurity to help lead a team responsible for crypto system acquisitions for various satellite programs.

This position will follow a hybrid work model and will allow partially remote work, with some onsite presence required in Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, or Albuquerque, NM.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing technical and managerial leadership to engineers in multiple locations across the United States
• Developing a department technical strategy and staffing the department accordingly to implement that strategy
• Working with various program offices to understand and shape their future COMSEC requirements and delivering expertise to help them meet those requirements
• Recruiting and hiring high quality technical talent in the field of COMSEC acquisition, key management, and cyber systems engineering
• Ensuring quality of technical products and deliverables
• Inserting new technology into programs while ensuring security
• Working directly with the Government to acquire COMSEC equipment meeting key requirements
• Performing business development
• Leading the development of COMSEC prototypes in both ground and spacecraft systems
• Developing and mentoring leaders within the organization

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, information systems, systems engineering, or related field
• Significant experience working with the Government acquiring COMSEC devices for major programs
• Experience writing crypto requirements for space systems
• Experience leading teams performing COMSEC acquisition
• Experience with key management plans
• Management and team leadership experience
• Working knowledge of modern space COMSEC devices
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Current and active Top Secret/SCI clearance
• Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

• Advanced technical degree
• Twelve or more years of experience working in the fields of COMSEC acquisition, cybersecurity, key management, and/or space systems engineering
• Experience working directly with various teammates acquiring space systems including Government, SETAs, and other FFRDCs
• Experience with spacecraft integration and test
• Experience with space systems, including familiarity with space, ground, and user segments
• Experience with systems engineering and how cybersecurity can be integrated into system engineering processes
• Experience with spacecraft command and control
