Appointment percentages are between 50-100%.

This is a continuous job opening, allowing faculty members/PIs to review and interview applicants as funding comes available. The position will remain open from June 2020 - June 2021.

Duties and Responsibilities: Positions available in the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics in areas of related and relevant research. This position is responsible for conducting research and providing service that provides further development of career skills and/or allows them opportunities to learn new research techniques. Incumbent is trained by and works in conjunction with a faculty mentor who determines the training agenda. Examples of work may include: carrying out and/or supervising lab experiments; developing experimental procedures; collecting and analyzing data; participating in preparing and presenting data; author, co-author, or otherwise collaborate on reports, papers, and publications.

Note: These positions are contingent upon availability of funding. All applications are reviewed when such openings occur. Duration of appointment, position and salary vary according to funding and qualifications of candidate. Postings typically vary from three months to one year, but may last up to three years. The starting salary begins at $48,426 for 12-month, 100% time appointments. The starting salary may be higher, commensurate with experience and funding. The Department of Agromony and Plant Genetics, maintains a file of applications from candidates for temporary part-time and full-time research positions on a continuous basis. These temporary positions are available to persons holding an earned doctorate degree in Applied Plant Sciences or a closely related field and possessing applicable research experience.

Qualifications

These temporary positions are periodically available to individuals holding an earned Ph.D. degree and applicable training and/or experience. The positions vary in areas of specialization depending on availability of funding and are either full or part-time.
