Responsibilities Responsibilities As an Electro-Optic Development Engineer in the Electro-Optics and Instruments Group, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of Electro-Optic and Atom-Optic inertial instruments and inertial measurement systems. This engineer will work closely with a team of engineers and physicists to develop, prototype, and test cutting-edge prototype instrument and system designs. The candidate will be heavily involved with building gyroscope and accelerometer prototypes and characterizing their performance. Additionally, the candidate will be involved with sensor integration into inertial measurement systems, this will include modeling of complete system as well as test and characterization. The candidate will be expected to spend time in the lab, performing hands on tasks with development hardware, as well as helping to develop and update hardware and system models. Development hardware is often tested off site with customer oversight and the candidate will be expected to support this type of test program. The candidate must be able to work with multidisciplinary teams and must possess good communication skills. Qualifications Qualifications
Doctorate degree in physics, electrical engineering, or related discipline is preferred, though strong candidates with Master's degrees will be considered.
