Job Description



1.Ensures that incoming materials conform to purchase specifications. Completes inspection of components per engineering specifications. Documents inspection on appropriate inspection reports. Chooses appropriate gauges to complete the inspection tasks.
2.Adds and removes components from the inspection list as appropriate based on established inspection rules.
3.Documents any nonconformances in the QSI database and assists with investigation and disposition.
4.Back-up support for the manufacturing floor, as required. This may include inspecting and signing off on "Specials", troubleshooting issues, auditing shipments and inspecting inventory as issues arise.
5.Conducts procedure, process, product and documentation audits per schedule. Documents and completes follow-up of issues. Assists in developing the audit schedule.
6.Backs-up the Senior Quality Technician for floor issues and first article inspections as required based on the priority of manufacturing, engineering and supply chain.
7.Reviews engineering and manufacturing documentation to ensure clarity, and complete compliance with requirements, documents discrepancies and forwards to appropriate personnel for action.
8.Participates in continuous improvement activities and Lean initiatives. EDUCATION:
*High school diploma or GED required.
*Some technical school and/or gage use coursework preferred.
*Certified Quality Technician preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
*3 - 5 years of experience as a component part inspector in a manufacturing environment.
