About This Role:



The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory () and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (https://www.vet.k-state.edu/academics/dmp/), College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University are seeking enthusiastic team-oriented anatomic pathologist, a collaborative team player with a keen sense of humor. Clinical track anatomic pathology positions are available at rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Requirements include a DVM or equivalent degree and ACVP board eligibility. Applicants with ACVP board certification and/or graduate training (MS or PhD degree) will be given preference.

Position responsibilities are flexible depending on the professional interests of the successful candidate, and could range from 70% directed diagnostic service with 30% research /teaching, to 50% directed diagnostic service with 50% collaborative research service. Our diverse and busy diagnostic service duties include necropsy, mail-in and biopsy case management with timely communication of results to clients, experiential instruction of senior veterinary students, and training of anatomic pathology residents. Collaborative research opportunities include pathology support of KSU or external investigators, BSL-2 and BSL-3 agriculture animal containment experiments in support of two national Centers of Excellence, the Center of Excellence for Emerging Zoonotic Animal Diseases () and the Center on Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (). There are also numerous opportunities to engage with didactic teaching in veterinary or graduate curricula of the department.

The successful candidate will join a growing community of scientists affiliated with KSU and federal and regional centers including the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (), the Arthropod-borne Animal Diseases Research Unit (), and the Biosecurity Research Institute ().
