About This Role:

The job duties of this full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate will be to support the Weed Science program at the Kansas State University, Agricultural Research Center, Hays, KS by successfully conducting greenhouse/laboratory and applied field research on integrated strategies for weed control and herbicide resistance management in the Kansas cropping systems. The person on this position will primarily be responsible for conducting basic and applied research in the area of weed science to discover, develop, and integrate new technology or strategies including computer-based models designed to increase the efficiency and sustainability of crop production in dryland cropping systems. Expectations include self-direction and innovative problem solving, leadership, the ability to work independently and cooperatively (inter- and intradisciplinary), assisting PI in writing grants, reports, and peer-reviewed journal articles, participation in professional, scientific meetings in problem identification and assessment, research planning and implementation, and dissemination of research findings at public and professional meetings and through various media outlets.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in weed science, agronomy, or closely related plant science discipline
- Two years experience in weed science, agronomy, or closely related plant science discipline
- Good verbal and written skills in English, knowledge of experimental design and analysis, and computer literacy and application.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in weed science.
- Experience or knowledge of Great Plains agriculture.
Other Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
- Must have existing or obtain a Kansas Certified Pesticide Applicators license and a valid non-commercial driver's license.
