Job Description

The Elaine Marieb Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation, a collaborative effort between the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing and the College of Engineering, is seeking Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Human Factors. A highly motivated individual with backgrounds in healthcare human factors and human-computer interaction is sought to join our active group engaged in basic, translational, clinical human factors research, and medical product development, usability testing, and innovation.

Essential Functions

The Elaine Marieb Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation is a new, highly interactive, and collaborative group of researchers where interdisciplinary research approaches are utilized to help improve personnel performance and human-system interaction in complex safety-critical systems. The candidate will work on projects specifically chosen to address an identified and validated healthcare need. All projects are interdisciplinary, iterative, and are directed to address issues at the point of care. You will have a chance to work with students at both the graduate and undergraduate level, lead and manage our active program of healthcare product usability testing which will provide you with numerous industry partnerships, gain valuable grant-writing and publication experience, and be part of team that is passionate about improving healthcare.

Minimum Qualifications

Interested candidates should have obtained a Ph.D. degree in nursing, engineering, computer science, or related fields which includes a strong background in human factors and healthcare.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with remote health technologies & systems, wearable sensors, machine and deep learning, and product development is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a track-record of teamwork, self-direction, interdisciplinary collaboration and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Details

One year opportunity to renew for second year based on performance.

Salary Information

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
