Description

FUNCTION:

Oversees the daily operation of assigned Community Home(s). Ensures compliance with Chapter 6400 Regulations andAllegheny County Department of Human Services/Office of Intellectual Disabilities standards for the health safety and welfare of the individuals supported by direct care employees in the home. Serves as the on-call person along with beeper responsibilities according to a developed schedule. Reports to the Community Living Specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Supports the achievement of individuals personal outcomes.
  2. Ensures the Organizations vision and mission statement and the Department goals and objectives are incorporated in the daily operation of the home.
  3. Ensures compliance and implementation of the Departments policies and procedures relative to Community Homes. Assembles, maintains and monitors all in-house and individual records. Assists with and ensures the upkeep and maintenance of the home.
  4. Assigns direct care staff members to specific job assignments at the home.
  5. Ensure the implementation of the outcomes identified in the Individual Support Plan.
  6. Ensures appropriate and accurate expenditures and reconciliation of monies dispersed from the Resident Account.
  7. Supervises and evaluates the staff assigned to the home(s). Communicates individually on a regular basis to clarify job responsibilities, program purposes, philosophy, and goals. Provide on-going training, development and constructive feedback. Implements corrective action with prior approval.
  8. Communicates and informs the Community Living Specialist of operation supports, including fiscal and personnel-related issues on a regular basis.
  9. Remains available to assist either by phone or on-site in a crisis, at the discretion of the Director, and /or Community Living Specialist. Ensures that staff adheres to the crisis procedures. Provides support to staff and individuals to continue on-going duties and activities.
  10. Develops the weekly staff schedule. Adjusts staff schedules due to vacation, absenteeism or illness with prior approval.
  11. Ensures effective communication with the individuals supported, families and other people involved in the provision of supports for the individual.
  12. Participates in various committees or workgroups as approved.
  13. Receives 24 hours of training relevant to Human Services.
  14. Acts as a Designated Agency Person per the Medication Administration requirements.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

The equivalent of a bachelor's degreein Human Services/Social Science and two years of related experience. Good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to complete one person transfers. Must meet Act 33 and 34 Requirements. Valid license to drive in Pennsylvania and properly insured automobile for daily use.
