Construction Project Manager

Overview:

Our client, an industry-leading commercial construction company, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee one or more multimillion-dollar commercial construction projects from bid through completion. This is a long-term direct hire role with our client in the Portland Metro area.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development and marketing activities
  • Maintain relationships with past clients
  • Responsible for all aspects of the ongoing project; coordinate and direct the estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, construction, and quality assurance activities
  • Inspect all documents for completeness of information, design deficiencies, and code violations
  • Organize and coordinate the scope of work instructions, technical requirements, and bid packages for subcontractor and vendor items
  • Review and approve bids and budgets
  • Ensure complete training of field and office staff to perform their duties properly
  • Supervise the production and maintenance of all construction schedules
  • Oversee job cost and labor detail reporting, collection and analysis of man-hour, material and equipment cost forecasting
  • Review all subcontractor and supplier agreements
  • Conduct performance appraisals with assigned direct reports
  • Oversee client interaction and service calls after project completion

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience required
  • 5+ years of project management (from bid to project completion) experience required, preferably on GMP commercial builds
  • Experience in preconstruction planning, estimating, subcontractor bidding, and scheduling required
  • Proficiency in Timberline, Primavera or MS Project, and/or Bluebeam is required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and experience working with staff on all levels
  • Excellent judgment and an accurate understanding of issues
  • Excels in advanced thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
