Job Summary Reporting to the Technical Director, you will manage a team of polymer and coatings scientists developing new polymers and polymer technology platforms. You will work closely with the Delta Coatings Manager to aid in the development of new technologies in coatings and colorants. Soft Skills

Responsibilities
- Lead the team to drive for research and development of new technologies with a focus in polymers for coatings applications
- Responsible for leading the scientists to prove feasibility of new chemistries for both, polymer and coatings applications
- Manage technology transfer to product development teams
- Collaborate with Product Development teams in support of product commercialization
- Manage R&D projects for the team, set priorities, deliver results to meet business goals
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA/QC, and Procurement on product scale ups, quality, new and alternate materials
- Actively engage with business partners to guide comprehensive planning and decision making
- Develop functional strategies for continuous improvement of the teams' capabilities
- Lead a cross functional area or discipline
- Identify and lead integrated learning or capability building opportunities
- Identify team strengths and opportunities, coach development and utilize HR resources
Required Skills and Experience
- Ph.D. with minimum of 7 years' experience, BS and MS with minimum 12 years' experience, in chemistry, material science, or related fields
- R&D experience in polymer and coatings product development
- Experience in managing direct reports
- Proven record of product development and commercialization
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
