Software Architect, Lead

The Opportunity:

You're eager to apply your advanced consulting experience and full end-user experiences to transform veteran, care-giver and provider experiences for the Veterans Health Administration. We're looking for someone like you to help organizations solve their traditional business challenges with new digital transformation architecture from roadmap to implementation.

As a digital transformation architect on our team, you'll use your expertise to modernize solutions with a continuous improvement mindset by implementing new solutions, integrations with internal and external applications in a highly-secure environment. Using requirements refinement and a data-driven solution mind-set, you'll work alongside key stakeholders and other consultants to share your expertise on technical ecosystems and implement transformative end-user experiences, new digital cloud architecture solutions enabled with micro-services architecture to bring agility to changing business needs.

In this role, you'll directly impact the Veterans Health Administration by understanding customer needs, mapping business capabilities to new solutions, aligning technology to short-term and long-term needs With opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing and collaborating as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in a senior software engineer or architect role

  • Experience in backend or middleware environments supporting Java-based applications

  • Experience developing IT solutions in cloud infrastructure

  • Experience with cloud technologies, including IaaS, PaaS or SaaS

  • Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications

  • Knowledge of Microservices, APIs, REST, SOAP, OpenAPI, RAML or SOA

  • Ability to analyze and execute solution architecture

  • Ability to work with various teams to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 12+ years of experience in a senior software engineer or architect role

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience on VA or other federal government contracts

  • Experience with Java 11 version or higher

  • Experience developing automation processes such as IaC

  • Experience working with Docker and container orchestration platforms

  • Experience with implementing CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience deploying applications to Tomcat

  • Knowledge of Java Spring and MuleSoft based applications

  • Knowledge of best practices when using source control management tools such as GitHub or GitLab

  • Knowledge of public key infrastructure (PKI) and cryptographic protocols, including SSL/TLS

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Certification

The salary for this position will be determined based on various factors. The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 160,000 to 180,000.
