Summary:

Seeking tutors for possible future openings on the Monroe Campus located in Tannersville, PA. Part-time, semester by semester appointments (maximum 28 hours per week). The Monroe Campus Learning Center (MCLC) routinely hires qualified individuals to work as tutors in a variety of subject areas. Tutors provide learning assistance in one-on-one, small group, workshop, and other settings. Tutors will be provided College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training and are expected to obtain certification within one year of employment. Continuous professional development is expected of all tutors. In addition, tutors are required to attend staff meetings, training sessions, and to complete additional responsibilities as assigned. The following disciplines are needed for tutoring:

  • Allied Health (anatomy, physiology, nursing, related fields)
  • Business (accounting, statistics, economics, related fields)
  • Computer/Technology (intro to computers, programming, web design, HTML, electronics, biotechnology, related fields)
  • Fine Arts/Computer (graphic arts, graphic design, painting, music, related fields)
  • Mathematics (mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, related fields)
  • Modern Languages (Spanish, French, related fields) *strong conversational fluency required*
  • Science (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Biotechnology, related fields)
  • Writing

Qualifications:

60+ College credits earned or an Associate's degree in related field from a regionally accredited Institution required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Previous tutoring experience and experience with instructional technology preferred. Field/career experience also preferred.

The number of tutors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department and the College. Please understand that there may not presently be a position available at the time of your application.
