CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Position Summary

The Commercial Process Analyst (CPA) for Sherwin Williams Packaging Division, Food and HP will provide important commercial, financial, operational, and strategic analyses to support the Business Director and Managers. Key areas of focus will include: Pricing, Sales Forecasting, Driving Customer Value, and Business Management. The role will require cross-functional collaboration with Technical, Manufacturing, Quality, Tech Service, Customer Service, Marketing, and Supply Chain to meet business objectives, and is an excellent opportunity to gain a broad perspective and develop commercial acumen.


Job Responsibilities


  • Pricing



    • Responsible for updating pricing mechanisms to justify price changes in the marketplace

    • Maintain and Update Customer Price Lists for deployment to customers and implementation within SW systems

    • Draft requested new pricing based on margin analysis and competitive environment

    • Manage freight rates to ensure freight costs are being covered

    • Assist with rebate calculation and processing

    • Investigate low/negative margin products and establish required action items to correct.


  • Sales Forecasting (IBP Process)



    • Manage incorporation on customer forecasts into IBP process; provide regular feedback to customers/account managers on accuracy

    • Track new business development and other changes and ensure changes are represented in the sales forecast

    • Analyze accuracy of past forecasts and derive key drivers for major misses


  • Driving Customer Value



    • Assist with the development of customer value proposals to drive new business wins

    • Participate in bid and financial proposal preparation for contract negotiations.

    • Manage SKU consolidations, including ideation, implementation, and communication

    • Participate in customer meetings and make visits to customer sites as appropriate

    • Ensure responsiveness to customer needs by working with Maintenance of Business group to prioritize open lab work requests and provide input on customer problem investigations


  • Business Management



    • Business Team meeting/call coordination and action item follow up

    • Work with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and Raw Material Management teams to ensure ability to produce products to fulfil customers' needs

    • Participate in Material Review Board meetings and work with Supply Chain to minimize finished good write-off's by collaborating with customers to work off aging inventories

    • Develop and improve standard operating procedures to optimize commercial processes

    • Performs other duties as assigned



POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  1. FORMAL EDUCATION:




  • Required: BS degree in an applicable field (e.g. Chemistry, Engineering, Business, etc.)




  1. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:




  • Required: 1-3+ years of progressive experience; experience considered from a variety of functions




  1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Professional company provided or home office environment; however, will be subject to travel and its associated factors and may be subject to moderate levels of dust, odors, fumes, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, loud noises, and other environmental factors found in manufacturing environments.



  1. TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES




  • Advanced PC skills/Microsoft Office applications and other applicable applications.

  • Developing and implementing complex sales and related business programs and applying comprehensive sales, business, and related principles and practices

  • Influencing executive management

  • Developing and monitoring budgets; understanding of marketing, research and development, manufacturing, and related business functions

  • Providing consultation and advice on overall business strategies and philosophies

  • Demonstrated strong collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated strong strategy planning and implementation skills
