CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Position Summary The Business Manager, Food Coil and D&I for Sherwin-Williams Packaging will lead the day-to-day operations for a business segment greater than $75mm in annual sales. S/he manages a group of up to 5 commercial analysts, account managers and sales/technical service personnel. The Business Manager, Food Coil and D&I will assist the Business Director, Food & HP in developing the overall business strategy for the segment, and will lead cross-functional resource coordination with Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Technical Service, and Customer Service to meet business objectives. The Business Manager, Food Coil and D&I will be an integral member of Packaging North America's Sales Business Team, actively engaging to set direction, manage the segment's P&L and deliver against business group objectives under the guidance of the Business Director. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies and programs that support the division's and corporation's business philosophy, managing activities within the business functions, and administering the group budget.
Job Responsibilities

Manage a market segment P&L with annual sales above $75mm. -
Responsible for developing and implementing account strategies for customers in concert with the Business Director, Food & HP and Global Account Managers -
Responsible for execution of new business pricing strategies and pricing for existing products. Manage the design, development, and execution of pricing mechanisms. Negotiate and set pricing at the discretion of the Business Director, Food & HP. -
Lead execution of the IBP process - demand plan, S&OP cycles, P&L budget and reconciliation process -
Supervise staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary. Responsible for developing talent of direct reports. -
Manage the development and integration of sales and related business strategies for the business segment by identifying market opportunities, examining the competitive environment, reviewing operations, and implementing appropriate changes. Responsible for execution of Business Segment plan. -
Manage the growth and expansion of the business segment by ensuring the effective allocation and targeting of sales, technical service, and related personnel for potential, new and existing customers. Actively promote the use of (see application details) to help accelerate growth of business. -
Administer the activities within and around product or customer leaders and ensure business metrics are met; provide direction to marketing, research and development, manufacturing, and related functions. -
Manage the development of customers and contacts by profiling and targeting market segments, ensuring adequate representation at events, networking within the industry, and related marketing/relations as required. -
Manage the customer relationship and business management by ensuring relationships are developed with all levels of customer management, monitoring overall customer satisfaction, and developing, supporting negotiations, and approving contracts. -
Manage cross-functional teams to ensure that needs of customers are met, which includes creating awareness of existing products, setting priorities for MOB resources to support customers and improve products, utilizing resources to solve customer problems, ensuring product availability, directing regulatory support, and ensuring customers are supported by sales and technical service. -
Responsible for managing and rationalizing SKUs when appropriate. -
Responsible for ensuring customer contracts are properly implemented, including execution of mechanisms and rebates. -
Manage the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. -
Administer and monitor the departmental budget including allocating resources and approving expenditures; budget scope is moderate in nature. -

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:
-
Required: BS degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a Technical Field is required. -
Preferred: MBA or Master's degree is preferred

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
-
8 years of progressive business experience, including 4 years of experience as a Sales Manager or an Account Manager. -
Experience as both a Sales Manager and an Account Manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Professional company provided or home office environment; however will be subject to travel and its associated factors and may be subject to moderate levels of dust, odors, fumes, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, loud noises, and other environmental factors found in manufacturing environments.
