Job Description


The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting complex business intelligence analytical solutions utilized to support the business analytical and reporting needs. Design, develop, and maintain a Data Warehouse environment for Parker Aerospace sector. Collaborate with solutions analysts and end users to define data requirements, reporting specifications, and provide technical report assistance. This role has the responsibility for improving data quality and alignment to Parker's Corporate Master data, including, but not limited to Parker's Customer, Distributor, Division, and Product data. This role will also work with division staff and project teams to design and develop effective business intelligence solutions to facilitate business decisions through Ad Hoc analysis, Scorecards, Dashboards, and statistical analysis.

SCOPE/SUPERVISION AND INTERACTION:

Collaborates with colleagues from various division functional areas including marketing, engineering, sales, operations, IT and others.

  • Works with division staff to prioritize business information projects.

  • Works directly division business leaders to scope and solve business information projects.

  • Design and implement BI Data Warehouse.

  • Translate business requirements into specification that will be used to implement required data marts, reports, and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data source.

  • Design and implement BI reporting applications.

  • Documents data systems, processes, and technical Meta data.

  • Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning and prioritization skills.

  • Continually investigating better methods to improve monitoring, discovering issues, and delivering better value to customers.

  • Identifies critical areas of the data structure and recommends improvements to existing reports and reporting processes.

  • Provide training and assistance to users for adhoc analysis/adhoc request/ adhoc report

  • Production Support: Databases, Servers, Debugging and troubleshooting BI solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field (Business Administration, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.). Equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered.

  • Experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse enterprise platforms

  • 8+ years using BI best practices, methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modelling, OLAP technologies, SQL, data warehouse and reporting techniques.

  • 8+ years of IT experience in reporting/analytics. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.

  • High proficiency writing SQL

  • Experience in aerospace data a plus.

  • Experience with WebFocus reporting a plus.

  • Technical knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Alteryx.

  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.

  • Experience building Reports, Scorecards and Dashboards w/ Power BI a plus.

  • Knowledge of software development, QA methodologies and release process.

  • Good project/time management and teamwork skills.

  • Driven by a fast-paced, energetic, results-oriented environment.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as needed.

  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel
  • Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $85,120 - $142,040.
