Food Service Worker
Fullerton, CA Description Position Summary: Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in a kitchen operation for residential facility for children and adolescents. Essential Duties:
- Perform general cleaning as scheduled.
- Receive delivery of and put food and supplies away after receipt.
- Ensure safe handling and correct rotation of food items (first in, first out).
- Time is to be used effectively to ensure that duties are completed according to the schedule.
- Department and facility procedures are correctly followed for safety, sanitation, and cleaning schedules.
- Properly wash and store dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Assist in food preparation and delivery.
- Assemble and deliver cottage supplies according to the posted standards.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements If less than high school degree or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience. Prior work in food service environment and prior work with youth, preferred. Additional Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver's license.
- Must pass criminal records clearance.
- Must be able to successfully complete and maintain required certifications and training.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle without restrictions
- Required to occasionally lift and carry 10-20 pounds
- Regularly required to sit from 1 to 3 hours per day.
- Regularly required to stand from 4 to 8 hours per day.
- Frequent pushing and pulling of objects up to 40 lbs. and up to 50 ft.
- Frequent lifting of objects, up to 40 lbs. from floor to waist and from floor to overhead.
- Frequent carrying of objects up to 40 lbs.
- Frequent overhead reaching.
- Must be able to perform cooking and writing tasks.
- Normal or corrected and far vision, in addition to non-inhibiting color vision. May need to read up to 3 hours a day.
- Normal or corrected hearing required.
Work Environment: Large Residential Treatment facility for adolescent females (and infants/toddlers) with mental health issues and/or behavioral challenges requiring intensive treatment and vigilant 24/7 supervision. Moderate to high noise level. Salary Range: $34,320 - $37,752
