Position Description:

Position can be performed from any company office location, or remote. Preference for candidate to live and work within the regional area position supports.

Lead
management of client risk services and leverage expertise to guide and oversee team
of Risk Management Directors and Insurance and Claim professionals.

Essential Duties & Key
Responsibilities:

  • Serve as key member of Risk Management Leadership Team (RMLT) to strategize and align related financials with parent company goals and assure profitable delivery of services across organization.
  • Lead Risk Management Directors and teams across regions and evolve organizational culture to achieve vision, mission, and goals of Risk Management department for future state sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Business Development (BD) on senior level proposals and client pursuits to guide decisions on insurances and risks.
  • Lead high-level claim reviews to support clients and advise management on complex negotiations.
  • Serve as escalation point for Regional Claims Directors, assess high profile claims, and settle claims up to settlement authority.
  • Drive sustainable costs, trends, budgets, and financial impacts of claims throughout regions and for external clients.
  • Lead development of and monitor risk management service agreements.
  • Provide guidance and advocacy for implementation of company and clients' preferred insurance programs and settlements of insurable claims.
  • Liaise and maintain relationships with clients' legal, finance and operations leadership, and their insurance carriers, outside counsel, and brokers.
  • Provide senior-level client risk management support; to include contract review, business risk advice, benchmarking advice against identified industry standards.
    Interface with Project Risk team to manage requirements for non-standard insurance placements.
  • Analyze and interpret operation claims data to support leadership decision-making of annual insurance program renewals.
  • Lead and participate in company-wide projects related to risk management, safety, and crisis management.
  • Research risk management trends and provide advice of suitable risk transfer options to clients.
  • Contribute to and implement company-wide crisis protocols, supporting people, clients, and projects.
  • Assess Risk Management institutional training needs and maintain regular communication of Federal, State, and Local regulation changes for staff adoption.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with subject matter experts, in-house marketing and business partners to develop and deliver material to support the implementation of company and clients' preferred insurance programs.
  • Participate in industry events, represent company, and set standards as industry leader.
  • Deliver timely performance feedback for teams and execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle.
  • Manage Risk Management resource allocation and department budget.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or similar program, with minimum of 15 years of experience in insurance, risk management, or claims with emphasis on construction; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
    • Broker or Insurance Consultant license, required
    • Construction industry risk management experience, desired
    • Risk management CPCU, ARM or similar insurance designation
    • Firm understanding of contracts and insurance documents
    • Align complex business needs with insurance market trends
    • Demonstrate executive level negotiation and influencing skills
    • Build engaging partnerships with team and organizational stakeholders through trust, teamwork, and direct communication
    • Executive level presentation skills, anticipate needs of technical and non-technical audiences and tailor communications appropriately
    • Leader with organizational management skills, capable of directing, managing, and developing regional teams
    • Advanced project leadership skills, able to oversee concurrent complex projects and tasks successfully to completion
    • Highly analytical problem-solving skills, adept at processing and breaking down data into actionable information
    • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft suite of applications, MS Outlook, and insurance-based risk management information systems
    • Regular travel: travel modes include air, train, vehicle, and international travel as needed
