Responsibilities Our team is developing the gateway signal processing software for Viasat's third-generation satellite internet network. Viasat-3, Viasat's revolutionary GEO satellite, is unprecedented both in its terabit per second capacity and its flexibility in directing that capacity where it is needed in real time. The spacecraft requires an equally innovative gateway architecture, and we are developing and ultra-high throughput GPU-based modem to that end. We're responsible for its design, implementation, integration, and test. Proactively propose solutions to ensure business continuity. Understand and analyze user and system requirements as input for the infrastructure and software development. Build and maintain scalable and secure solutions for next-generation software-defined networks. Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers and project stakeholders to deliver products with quality, on time and in line with a defined scope. Deliver maintainable, robust and testable code. Share knowledge and collaborate with other developers and network engineers across the business. Support the production of documentation as needed. Requirements 2+ years of experience in software engineering and development Knowledge of apps deployment and support using containers such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc. Automation skills with Python Technical knowledge of network components (e.g. routers, switches,etc.) and how they operate Experience in infrastructure automation and scripting using tools such as Ansible Proficient with software development tools such as git, DevOps frameworks such as Jenkins, etc. Preferences Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study or equivalent experience Familiarity with cloud services and technologies - AWS & Google Cloud Experience designing and developing for continuous integration & delivery environments (CI/CD) Understanding of IPv4/v6 routing and switching, advanced network communication protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, GRE, VxLAN, EVPN, IPSec, VPN, Multicast Knowledge of Juniper, Arista, Cisco, and Fortinet network gear To learn more about this site and other office locations, please click ! For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $135650 to $223650 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
