We are seeking a pediatric speech-language pathologist to join our dynamic pediatric rehabilitation team! Position has the potential to include pediatric outpatient, pediatric inpatient, NICU, and developmental specialty clinic opportunities. Job Summary and Qualifications: Provides a patient evaluation and treatment and completes related documentation according to clinical and ethical standards Documentation is completed according to department minimal standards.Interventions are within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics. Purposeful and skilled interaction is provided using procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the rehabilitation diagnosis and prognosis.Recognizes the need for referral outside the scope of practice and follows through with recommendations/referral.The plan of care is legible to ensure that other health care professionals or authorized personnel can gather the information they need.Evaluations, treatments, and attempted treatments are documented and charged on day of service.Patient charges match care delivered.Takes ownership and participates in the management of resources for patient care and organizational improvement and development.Demonstrates efficient and appropriate use of support staff (technicians and office staff).Constructively participates in required meetings.Takes responsibility for understanding departmental communications (through e-mail, memos, posted material, or one-on-one conversations.Meets productivity standard.Appropriately determines daily staffing needs and assignments.Participates in educational activities.Assists in cross training and orientation of staff and teaches, instructs, and shares knowledge and skills with co-workersWillingly accepts assigned students.Actively seeks learning opportunities.Follows educational guidelines outlined by the department. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Required Education: Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders, or Communication Sciences and Disorders Preferred Education:None Required License: Current North Carolina license to practice Speech Therapy, ASHA certificationPreferred License: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or CFYRequired Experience: None required - new graduate eligible Preferred Experience: Clinical affiliations having a wide variety of acute care procedures, especially videofluorgraphic swallow evaluations and non-instrumental swallow evaluations. Experience with cognitive and language disorders, motor-speech disorders, dysphagia treatment, especially with neurology, cardiopulmonary, head/neck cancer, traumatic brain injury, and tracheostomy and ventilation management.
