This role may be required to relocate to Denver, Colorado. The GM Specialist will oversee various select service properties that include the Hilton and Marriott brands, including full service and select service.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS: The General Manager Specialist has full operational and financial responsibility for a given hotel for the length of the assignment. The General Manager Specialist operates all hotel departments (Front Office, Rooms, Maintenance, F&B, Sales) according to brand standards, Stonebridge Companies Standard Operating Procedures, and the directive of the Vice President of Operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assume the role of the General Manager at the assigned hotel during vacancies or leave.
  • Have working knowledge about assigned hotel's Operating, Financial, and Sales and Marketing procedures and goals.
  • Complete all General Manager or Departmental Manager duties at the given hotel.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standard and company standard operating procedures at the assigned hotel.
  • Provide onboarding and coaching support to new General Managers.
  • Perform QA self-audits at any given hotel.
  • Be a Brand Champion; support all Brand and Regional initiatives with active participation.
  • Be an Ambassador for sharing best practices with all the hotels in the Region.
  • Conduct region/area wide training for new initiatives and current Brand Standards.
  • Participate and support the Region's Specialist Team initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCIONS:

Guest Relations

  • Provide a model behavior for guest service at the given hotel. Extend professional courtesy to all guests.
  • Support or create SMART Guest Service goals and post expectations and results visible to all associates.
  • Respond to all guest service issues and inquiries in a professional timely manner.
  • Provide Service Training by delivering the Brand and/or company specific Service Training modules.
  • Participate in/lead the action planning/accountability process for Red Zone Action Plans within assigned region.

Associate Relations

  • Support or create Associate Satisfaction goals of the hotel by monitoring compliance of the hotel's action steps.
  • Conduct Associate Satisfaction deep dives and participate in the action planning/accountability process.
  • Ensure Brand Standard Service training compliance.
  • Conduct weekly Leadership Staff Meetings.

Financial and Administrating Responsibilities

  • Review or create the given hotel's financial reports: Budget, Forecast, Profit and Loss Statement, Labor Statistics, Ownership Reporting, Food and Beverage Recap, etc. Support current or create financial action steps to achieve the hotel's goals.
  • Complete or review the given hotel's Period End Critique/Commentary document in BI system. Prepare for and Participate in the Period End Critique process with the Vice President of Operations, Owner/ Asset Manager.
  • Partner with Revenue Manager/Sales team to review or create the assigned hotel's financial forecast.
  • Monitor the hotel's purchases and ensure financial checkbook accounting compliance.
  • Participate in/lead the action planning/accountability process for Internal Audit's within assigned region.

Sales and Marketing Responsibilities

  • Represent the assigned hotel in Revenue and Sales and Marketing meetings.
  • Review and support the given hotel's major accounts and current Sales and Marketing action plan.
  • Monitor daily sales strategy; make recommendation to the Revenue Manager to adjust daily inventory restrictions, rates, etc. to maximize revenue.

Technical

  • Have working knowledge to operate the following software:

PMS, POS, Microsoft Office, Outlook.

  • Produce clear, accurate and well-written documents in representation of the hotel or the Region/Area.

Other

  • Provide a written report of accomplishments, feedback, and follow up plans and actions for each assigned hotel.
  • Extensive (80%) travel required.
