Job Summary

Enovis is a well-established, rapidly growing orthopedic medical device manufacturing company looking to add another packaging engineer to the packaging engineering department. This opportunity offers an individual rapid skill growth under high visibility conditions in a regulated cGMP environment. Candidates will be exposed to all facets of the business and gain valuable experience in both ISO11607-1 and ISO11607-2. In addition, existing packaging skillsets will be utilized to support and lead projects from conception to commercialization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

This individual will support various packaging projects, including the design, development, and validation of packaging systems to support new and existing orthopedic implants and instruments. This role requires the application of ASTM D4169-22, ISTA 3A, and process validation. They will lead the implementation of new packaging designs into new or existing commercial manufacturing processes. They will also be responsible for supporting and developing the validations for new packaging equipment and processes. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • 30% Supports and leads the design of new packaging systems and improvement of existing designs and manufacturing processes, and serves as a critical member on project teams.
  • 20% Implements new packaging designs to manufacturing through training and process integration. The candidate will aid in sourcing and supporting capital projects from concept through installation and validation.
  • 10% Directs the generation of prototype samples to evaluate new materials and/or design concepts.
  • 15% Develops comprehensive validation strategies leading to the generation of associated protocols and reports.
  • 10% Collaborates with multiple domestic and international suppliers and facilities.
  • 10% Supports new technologies that will provide innovation and product differentiation.
  • 5% Leads packaging development-related quality improvement initiatives.

These responsibilities are not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA.

Must have 3 years of experience with the following: Supporting packaging validations; Writing work instructions or standards; training manufacturing on new packaging designs; conducting feasibility studies to prove and design new packaging systems; sourcing and analyzing capital equipment; supporting equipment qualification (OQ/PQ) and process validation projects; and developing and executing project plans. Writing specifications, rationale documents, and conducting or coordinating FAI.

Education Requirements

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering field, plus 3 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
