Sr Mgr NA Supply Chain Manufacturing Posted Date: Aug 11, 2022 Requisition Number: 115337 Job Location: Hershey, PA - hybrid work from office/home Job Summary: The Senior Manager, NA Supply Chain Manufacturing provide financial leadership and business partnership to leaders across the U.S. & Canadian business to drive profitable growth. This position requires strong leadership skills to influence and drive analytical decision making across the North American Manufacturing network (currently 10 owned sites and 40+ contract manufacturers / contract packagers) which comprise approximately $2B in annual Supply Chain costs. The individual will have responsibility for Finance business partnership across the manufacturing organization related to the controllable categories of standard costs of goods sold, as well as serve as the financial lead for strategic network investments and continuous improvement optimization opportunities. The Senior Manager will ensure smart resource allocation and investment optimization across teams to deliver on financial commitments. This role will influence across multiple teams and across many functions to appropriately challenge assumptions, build strong business cases and ensure financial viability in decision making. The role will also manage a team of 2 or more Finance professionals to ensure continued development and delivery across the team. Role Responsibilities: Provide financial leadership to the $2B+ NA COGS (50%): * Develop and deliver financial and economic analysis to Supply Chain business partners to drive decisions, effectively utilize resources, and ensure appropriate tradeoffs across the controllable costs of the manufacturing network, including conversion costs, overhead and waste components * Lead the annual planning process and consolidated reporting processes across Manufacturing to effectively manage risks and opportunities through performance driven insights * Provide analytical support to pressure test and explain variances in standards * Partner with Plant Controllers (dotted line reporting relationship) on budgeting, ensuring integrity of monthly actuals and variance reporting, as well as outlooking and annual planning processes * Lead dynamic planning, analysis, and insights across key areas, including, but not limited to division expenses, start up, and LIFO/FIFO * Provide financial leadership for strategic network investments including cash flow, payback and scenario planning analysis while also providing start up and ongoing expense views * Partner with the Continuous Improvement / Lean team on the development and realization of annual Continuous Improvement (subcomponent of Fuel Growth program) savings related to the manufacturing network by leveraging performance metrics available, including line performance and zero-based budget analyses * Act as the decision maker related to plant finance issue resolution across areas such as standard costs and intercompany allocations, to name a few * Partner with S/4 team to act as Manufacturing finance sponsor to drive successful implementation and change management associated with the SAP S/4 Hana implementation across the manufacturing network * Continually optimize and strive for standard, repeatable, and sustainable processes to support all areas of the role * Provide support and lead special projects and ad hoc analysis requests Lead Risk Management Controls and Compliance (30%): * Provides policy compliance and controls oversight for manufacturing operations North America to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and control processes * Ensures that US GAAP is followed in all supply chain accounting and controlling processes * and manage dynamic planning, analysis, and insights across key areas, including commodities, purchase price variances, intercompany, LIFO, inventory and freight deferrals Conduct scenario modelling across enterprise vectors and time horizons to guide decision making * Drive design and assist in the implementation of controls for Supply Chain areas as required by changes in business processes, audit reviews or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) * Ensure accurate accruals and reporting of manufacturing costs including inventory cost accounting Lead and develop direct reports, enabling their full potential (20%): * Lead and develop a strong team supporting each area of the NA Supply Chain. Develop challenging workplans and provide challenging assignments that will help the team develop their individual skills while bringing new perspectives that will also help the business. * Lead and coach for high performance within the team, and play a meaningful role in leading, coaching, and mentoring.
