Product Management Director- Open Source Software (OSS) Security

From static and dynamic analysis to software composition analysis (SCA), no AppSec solutions provider offers the breadth and depth that Synopsys offers, from SaaS to on-premises.

We are looking for someone to lead our Open Source Security initiatives, including leadership of our Black Duck SCA product management (PM) team and our SBOM roadmap. You will position Synopsys as the thought leader in Open Source Security and take our OSS product initiatives to the next level as we accelerate building trust in software.

This team is growing and we are investing in software composition analysis to meet the current and future needs of the market. Our team is looking for an experienced Senior Product Leader who is passionate about creating and evolving AppSec for the developers at Enterprise scale from commit to CI/CD integration.

As the Senior Product Leader you will lead our nexgen SCA evolution to meet the speed and actionability needs of the market. Successful candidates will have deep OSS/SCA business and technical knowledge in order to bring innovative solutions to the market. This role is a unique opportunity for a candidate who knows AppSec and Open Source. The ideal candidate is an individual that can drive the product vision and strategy both internally and externally down to the user level. Are you up for the challenge?

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for driving Enterprise & Developer OSS/SCA needs including tool and CI/CD integration elements of the SIG SaaS Platform
  • Drive focus in innovation around the evolving SBOM and the OSS-related supply chain market
  • PM leadership and requirements focus for architectural direction of the product development and product management team
  • Lead PM as part of an Agile Product Development process to accelerate feature releases
  • Engage globally with customers and field organizations to gather and prioritize requirements, define product roadmap, and drive high customer satisfaction and end-user engagement
  • Collaborate with Engineering and UX to evaluate technical feasibility, drive backlog prioritization, develop a keen understanding of the underlying architecture, and ensure successful and timely product releases
  • Work closely with Marketing on key aspects of go-to-market planning including pricing, packaging, positioning, competitive analysis, and sales enablement
  • Work with the broader product management team across SIG to help identify product concepts, develop feasibility studies, and business plans for commercialization
  • Collaborate with the field-facing teams (sales, support, customer success, training, etc.) to ensure these teams are enabled on new product / feature delivery
  • Overall accountability for the success of the product and business, creating internal visibility and business analysis for QBRs and product reviews with the Executive team

Key Qualifications
  • 10+ years of AppSec and SCA experience is a must-have
  • 10+ years of Product Management and/or related experience in enterprise software
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to drive deep product insights from data
  • Conflict management skills including the ability to work with and resolve conflicting priorities and requirements
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize in the face of multiple project demands with focus on critical details
  • Strong presentation and communication skills are a must-have to deliver roadmaps, engage customers and create a customer focused product management led culture
  • Work with the Ops and Delivery teams to build the operational policies and procedures associated with the offerings
  • Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Highly Desired
  • Proven experience with SCA, DevSecOps and modern software development practices
  • Deep knowledge of SCA solutions on the market
  • Supply Chain and SBOM knowledge
  • Experienced with automated SCA identification techniques
  • Deep understanding of SaaS and modernized solutions that leverage Kubernetes and other container platforms
