Primary Responsibilities:



  • Plan, create, and maintain technical documentation for internal or external engineering audiences including developer notes, FAQs and other documentation
  • Enable users and developers to get the most out of innovative software solutions aimed at transforming healthcare
  • Create compelling and easy to understand narratives, that do not rely heavily on technical jargon
  • Create and maintain documentation across a wide range of central design system functions such as playbooks, processes and procedures, presentations, websites, FAQs, wizards/instructions, inline application/tool help text, engineering documentation, training, and more
  • Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills
  • Partner with software developers and product managers to influence customer experiences
  • Be one of the first to try new features as you work with developers and designers to improve the related user experience, UI text, error messages, and API design
  • Work with peer writers and editors to improve your writing and grow professionally as a technical communicator
  • Create and maintain code samples and sample applications, as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • BA/BS in Computer Science or English or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and Markdown
  • Experience with web application development
  • Experience with Git and software platforms like Github or Gitlabs
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment
  • Established record of project ownership, project management, and self-direction



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 7+ years of technical writing experience
  • Experience with using UNIX or Linux environments

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
