This role will manage Early Career programs, such as college internships and rotational/accelerated development programs for early career hires. You will partner closely with Human Capital, business leaders and Talent Acquisition to create opportunities for students to begin their careers with UHC through differentiated internships and other related programming.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Lead the forecasting/demand planning process for assigned functions
  • Identify opportunities to develop and implement new early career programs and experiences that will enable the growth of early career hiring, create pathways to future leadership roles within the organization, and elevate enterprise goals
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and program operating committees to design, develop and execute the delivery of new early career programs
  • Manage program rosters and network with early career program participants to nurture their development and build high potential talent insight
  • Collaborate with other program managers to identify / create opportunities for enterprise-wide early career experiences that will support our employment brand, provide leadership exposure, and broaden the understanding of the company and variety of members we serve
  • Promote team engagement and facilitate productive dialogue to achieve positive results and create an inclusive team environment
  • Conduct surveys, focus groups and Voice of the Customer efforts to gather feedback and deepen understanding of program success and areas of opportunities
  • Support early careers I&D sourcing strategies to establish and expand key diverse sourcing partnerships as well as grass roots engagement efforts with universities and student organizations specific to Disability, LBGTQ+, Diversity and Military to support enterprise growth
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and UHC Leaders to assist with recruiting and on-campus activities as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • 7+ years of program/project management experience
  • Experience developing talent strategies and executing plans aligned with the culture and overall employee experience to drive business outcomes
  • Experience in stakeholder management, leading the development of change management, communication plans, talent processes, tools and resources
  • Ability to engage with leaders, demonstrate an understanding of senior leadership perspectives, influence without authority and address issues/concerns forthrightly with a solution-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities, ability to see connections between data points, synthesize information, and generate conclusions and probable solutions
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in creating and maintaining a high level of engagement with team members; consistently practices active listening, monitors team climate, and facilitating conversations to ensure everyone feels included and appreciated
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office, primarily in Excel (pivots, charts, VLOOKUPS, formula creation)
  • 10% Travel

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
