We want your knowledge and expertise!You Will:Analyze testing samples according to instructions and perform quality control procedures per protocolEmbed tissue specimens in correct orientation at a rate of 45 - 60 seconds per blockSection paraffin blocks at an average rate of 35 - 40 blocks per hourProduce sections of correct thickness with a minimum of cutting artifactsPerform routine H & E stain performed according to Department procedureRecognize inferior staining prior to submitting and corrects the problem to meet standardsPerform any on-site special stains and histo-chemical methodsPrepare smears, cell blocks, and Cytospin preparationsEnsure correct Cytology and Pathology numbers are entered in the computer under the right prefix, as well as ALL clinical data providedYou Should Have:A 2 Year/Associate Degree in ScienceA 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is beneficialA State of Florida Technologist License OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview processLess than one year of experience in Histology; 1-3 years of experience in a high volume histology setting is preferredThis role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).Integrated Regional Labsis a full service provider for clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services, providing hospitals, physicians, and clients withtimely diagnostic informationfor patient care.
