Position:
A Host Administrator operates, maintains, upgrades, and provides additional PDX Classic Host software services to contracted customers. Working closely with the Operations group, Support group and customers they ensure successful completion of production jobs, retrieval and sending of data files to customers, vendors and state entities, and monitoring of the overall service.

This role requires a mid-level technical and intuitive ability to diagnose and provide an educated assessment on resolution to more complex PDX Classic Host related software and operational issues. While certain tasks are defined, these need to be constantly reviewed and modified to meet specific customer requirements and improve efficiencies. This position will be taking direction from senior Host Administrators and performing tasks.

This role will help to shape and consistently refine the processes and procedures for the team to better provide a more proactive service to internal and external customers.

This role will work directly with the customer and senior Host Administrators and will be performing and monitoring defined tasks. They will not be required to make on-the-fly adjustments to established procedures. This role will work with the team to identify and prioritize proposed code fixes to software issue.

Core Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain the PDX Classic Host system to ensure customer requests and requirements are met for their pharmacy business needs.
* Operate the PDX Classic Host system for the customer to meet the contracted requirements including but not limited to file applies/retrievals, pricing and drug maintenance, and PMP submissions
* Monitor the operations of the systems and resolve issues. Notify the customer as required.
* Update Unix scripts to facilitate the transfer and monitoring of file delivery to customers, vendors and states.
* Provide expert assistance on the PDX Classic Host system to support and customers to solve customer production/test needs.

Consult with customers, management, vendors, systems, database, support and programming staff to resolve complex operational and procedural questions

Requirements:
* The position requires 1-2 years of experience with the PDX Classic and/or Host systems.
* 1-2 years working within the PDX Classic and/or Host Application
* Basic knowledge and experience using the PDX Classic Host application
* Some Unix (AIX and Linux) knowledge and experience.
* Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specifications

* Ability to work well with a team

* Demonstrated ability to handle customer interactions

* Some Unix (AIX and Linux) knowledge and experience.
