Are you intrigued by complex systems, concept development, and capability insertions? Are you a "systems thinker" that has Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience and technical expertise for the design and development of complex system of systems (SoS)?

We are seeking a creative, outside of the box thinker and problem solver to help us lead the development and deployment of the next generation intelligent combat systems. Importantly, we ask and expect our leaders to be sector level examples of innovators, mentors, and guides. As a team leader, you will contribute to the technical development of staff members and develop solutions related to kill-chain functionality within the combat system, personally guiding essential advancements for anti-air and hypersonic defense systems. You will become an essential member of our team of hardworking analysts, engineers, and scientists dedicated to combat system advancement. Our team is striving to become a center of excellence for Digital Engineering and MBSE, integration, and testing of combat system decision-making capability. As a Systems Engineer Modeler your duties will include...
  • Your primary responsibility will be to apply system analysis expertise to assess the health of new and existing weapon systems.
  • Perform functional analysis and decomposition to meet end-user needs.
  • Participate in teams working to advance defensive capabilities of essential national systems. Analyze and assess existing capabilities and identify exposed gaps. Work with staff to devise and develop algorithms, methods, and new solutions for improving defensive capabilities.
  • You will deliver formal presentations to sponsors and working groups to effectively communicate proposed concepts, solutions and analysis results.
  • You will collaborate with engineers and scientists in a diverse team environment to develop combat system concepts and quantify their benefit for missile defense programs.
  • Apply MBSE to drive requirements development from operational capabilities/needs to describe system performance, functionality, system safety, reliability, maintainability, and cybersecurity.
  • Help define model-based design review requirements and update the systems engineering process to utilize advanced MBSE techniques.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
  • Have a Bachelor 's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related technical field.
  • Have 2+ years of experience performing systems engineering in the design, development or evaluation of combat systems.
  • Have MBSE experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, and design.
  • Have worked with modeling frameworks such as the Department of Defense Architecture Framework or Unified Architecture Framework.
  • Have direct experience applying aspects of MBSE in support of system development.
  • Have strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Have shown the ability to interact effectively with diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including industry and government sponsors.
  • Are able to acquire Interim DoD Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately acquire Secret or higher level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government secret clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You 'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have an advanced degree in systems engineering or a related engineering, science, or mathematics field.
  • Have experience in systems engineering for IAMD, AAW, and BMD.
  • Have relevant Object Management Group (OMG) or other systems engineering certifications.
  • Hold an active Secret or higher DoD security clearance.
