Product Owner / Capability Manager - Telecommute

This position within UHC is part of ODM - Operational Data Management - Our mission is simple: make technology an asset for our business, not a problem. We will provide analytics, inventory management, project guidance and technology solutions that bring efficiencies to those we serve.

ODM falls under the larger group of Broker & Employer Operations - BEO is comprised of all of our customer and broker facing operations and their related back-office functions. Our goal is to deliver exceptional customer experience from the initial proposal and onboarding through the day-to-day servicing of the account.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Use customer feedback, detailed market analysis, and data gathering to make decisions about product strategy
  • Measure and optimize the success of your efforts and to inform the overall product strategy
  • Know your customer; invest significant time speaking with your current and potential business partners and customers to understand their needs
  • Engage in discovery/test & learn activities to quickly validate assumptions and product direction
  • Provide input to decompose problems into smaller manageable tasks by creating and prioritizing a backlog for your IT partners/scrum teams
  • Manage the product backlog, contribute toward creating an effective vision and provide timely stakeholder feedback on development iterations
  • Ensure the successful execution of development standards to ensure tight feedback loops and clear product definition
  • Collaborate across multiple functional areas in the organization and conduct idea generation, consumer research, test design and execution, measurement and product implementation

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in contributing toward and drive the product strategy for our business partners and customers
  • 2+ years of product ownership experience working on new technology development in a fast-paced environment
  • 2+ years of experience working in a development environment including experience in Agile or Agile XP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics, finance, computer science, marketing or related business degree
  • Agile Certifications
  • 1+ years of relevant Business System Analysis experience
  • 1+ years of experience interfacing with IT Architect teams
  • Experience in the health care or insurance industry with an understanding of the insurance marketplace, economic atmosphere, and regulatory environment

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
