Job Summary

The core responsibility for this role is to translate business vision and customer experience needs into compelling UI designs. This team member will assist in building prototypes to promote concept understanding and business buy-in, collaborate across various teams and disciplines to bring requirements to life via compelling designs while promoting a culture of design within our team and across the organization. Should have comfort presenting to internal and external teams (e.g., Design, Product, Engineering, third party partners) to receive feedback and understand user needs. Will actively support efforts to advance and evolve our design frameworks and digital design system while advocating for and overseeing brand adherence and promotion of usability principles. Additionally, this team member will contribute to development and enhancement of product user experience via creation of interaction models; working with developers to iterate further on designs during implementation to ensure optimal outcomes.

We can hire candidates located within the Associated Bank footprint. This includes the states of Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Rhode Island, Texas, and Wisconsin. This position is eligible for remote work, however due to work requirements we will give preference to candidates located in Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Job Accountabilities



  • Applies subject matter knowledge to design engaging and useful applications that serve a wide variety of digital experiences, focused on how the product feels for end-users. Responsible for digital user experience to maximize brand value, customer engagement and conversion across the web and online devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, etc.), and articulating the design and user experience to the engineering team for implementation.
  • Communicate design decisions with key stakeholders while advocating for the end-user
  • Possesses knowledge of prototyping and wireframe creation tools
  • Strong visual design skills and the ability to work and collaborate with other designers
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Time spent exploring new modern trends, tools, design patterns, design systems, architecture, best practices and many other UX/UI related topics
  • Conducts and interprets research of end-users perceived value and usability (i.e., ease of use and efficiency) to make design recommendations and develop prototypes


Education



  • Bachelor's Degree in design, digital design, communication design, information design, graphic design, or interaction design Preferred

Experience

  • Five or more years of experience designing component-based web, mobile, or desktop applications, including expert knowledge of user-centered experiences, workflows, and design principles Required
