Position Summary

The Information Technology Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) Department Leadership job family has overall responsibility for supporting PG&E's business vision by improving service quality, increasing capabilities through the development\deployment of infrastructure and core business productivity application functionality, implementing new technology, reducing costs, increasing productivity, and facilitating organizational and business effectiveness through enabling technologies. This job family is responsible for providing leadership for those involved in the development, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, support, and operations of PG&E's systems infrastructure. Responsibilities include but are not limited to analysis, maintenance, and operations of infrastructure systems. Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted. Selects, develops, and evaluates staff to ensure the efficient operation of each function.

Reporting Relationship

The Sr. Director, Application Hosting and Cloud Services will report into the VP, Infrastructure & Cloud Services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sets engineering and operational direction for the cloud, devops, and on-premise infrastructure technologies supporting business technology systems across customer, wildfire, asset, work, corporate services and control center operations
  • Accountable for operational excellence and continuous pursuit of improving reliability of infrastructure and cloud services to achieve business and operational outcomes.
  • Leads a team of directors, managers, and senior professionals demonstrating strong prowess in core managerial and leadership skills.
  • Leads the development, alignment, planning, funding, and execution of our cloud strategy plans in alignment with True North strategies for the core business processes.
  • Leads the development and optimization of our cloud competencies including technologies, platforms, talent, process, governance, security and architectural fitness.
  • Focuses on the management of operational and security risks and ensures that tactical and strategic plans are tracing and being executed to reduce risks effectively.
  • Evolve the technical talent and culture of the cloud and devops functions across IT through organizational development activities focused on learning, development, career paths, and innovation activities.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration with other IT and business teams ensuring that the appropriate cross functional operating models are designed, implemented and evolved including the alignment of infrastructure and cloud teams to business value streams.
  • Operates as a thought leader in the IT organization with a Business and IT first mindset demonstrating big picture thinking.
  • Leads the organization in the development of multiyear planning, budgets, TCOs and communicates with all levels including senior company executives to generate alignment to strategies and plans.
  • Actively participates in the Cloud industry to community to research trends and generate ideas for further business enablement of application and digital needs.
  • Functions as an active advocate of Cloud enablement and Digital workplace transformation efforts in partnering with other ICS and IT leaders.
  • Develops SLAs, OLAs, and operates metrics-based focus in the delivery of infrastructure and delivery in conjunction with critical business KPIs.
  • Ensures a robust operational service delivery by optimizing asset, incident, change, and problem processes.
  • Brings a special focus and skill on automation to drive optimization of operational and service provisioning activities to reduce toil and error and generate technical growth opportunities for staff.
  • Operates a $100M budget for the function ensuring that budget management fundamentals and company imperatives are effectively addressed.

Background Qualifications

Minimum

  • B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related field
  • (10) years of Cloud/Infrastructure experience including at least three (3) years of experience managing large scale Cloud transformation programs.

Desired

  • M.S./M.B.A. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, business administration, engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus
  • Experience in the Utility industry/business specifically in the network and telecom space
  • Proficient in conceptualizing creative solutions, as well as documenting them and presenting/selling them to senior management
  • ITIL Certification: Foundations, Practitioner, Manager
  • Project Management Institute Certification: Project Management Professional
  • Six Sigma Certification: Green belt, black belt, master black belt
  • Infrastructure Discipline Platform Specific Certifications. For example, VMware, MS Windows, Hitachi, Cisco, etc.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $197,000

Bay Area Maximum: $335,000

California Minimum: $187,000

California Maximum: $313,000
