The Center for Teaching, Learning and Employee Development (CTLED) is a unified collective of educational development opportunities for all employees (faculty and staff) at GateWay Community College with the common goal of improving student learning, growth, and success. Reporting to the Teaching and Learning Director, the incumbent is a vital member of the CTLED team who is passionate about teaching, learning, pedagogy, and assessment. A key requirement of this position is the ability to consult with our educators to ensure high quality learning experience for students including instructional methods, appropriate learning activities, and assessment techniques. This position is responsible for creating and implementing professional development learning opportunities supporting best practices of teaching, learning, design, and assessment for all teaching modalities. Essential Functions 60%- Consult and collaborate with educators on pedagogically sound and effective use of instruction, design strategies, active learning, classroom management, assessment techniques and content development across multiple modalities. 20%- Collaborate with educators to develop assessments for student learning mastery (outcomes and competencies) and assess pedagogical effectiveness. 10%- Create and implement professional development learning opportunities supporting best practices of teaching, learning, and design. 10%- Other duties as designed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in instructional design, training and development, educational technology or related field and four (4) years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation. OR Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and six (6) years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation. OR High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of experience in instructional design and development , program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation. Desired Qualifications A. Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or closely related field. B. Experience teaching in a K-12 and/or higher education setting C. Experience with instructional design, educational technology, and learning management systems. D. Experience working with educators supporting the integration of instructional pedagogies (learning theory, active learning, classroom management, assessment techniques etc.) E. Experience facilitating formal/informal educational professional development learning opportunities. F. Experience developing and delivering instructional materials using a learning management system.
