Compensation

Salary Range: $46.34 - $69.84 / hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.



Responsibilities

Position Overview:

Assists the director of the department in maintaining the highest levels of clinical and pathological laboratory services to all customers in CMHS. Plans, manages and supervises the activities of the laboratory assuring all practices are in accordance with accrediting agencies using proper safety precautions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises PM, Day and Night shift employees in the Laboratory. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; ensuring staffing levels are adequate for the laboratory's expected workload, calling in staff or flexing as appropriate; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

    Current CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
  • Ability to perform venipuncture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent experience in a Clinical Laboratory of an acute care facility
