Position description

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Job Advertisement

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco is recruiting for a full-time faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. The appointment will be in the HS Clinical Series. Academic rank and salary level will be based on the successful applicant's experience.

The faculty member will provide outpatient clinical care at Highland Hospital's Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery ambulatory care clinic four days per week. In addition, the faculty member will perform operating room procedures for oral surgery and trauma one day per week, and take facial trauma and dental after hours calls. The faculty member will oversee Highland Hospital residents, provide didactic and clinical training, and participate in quality and safety improvements as directed by Hospital Leadership. The faculty member will supervise and teach residents, dental students, and medical students in the specialty of Oral Surgery.

To be hired the candidate must have completed a CODA-accredited training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, completed fellowship training, possess a DDS/DMD and be eligible for dental and medical licensure or special permit in the state of California.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $135,700-$360,600. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
