Job Description Summary

Reynolda's Creative Services Manager leads the graphic implementation of the Reynolda brand through effective print and digital design and creative communications for both Reynolda House and Reynolda Gardens. The Manager delivers creative products as it relates to both internal and external communications. This includes design, art direction, illustration, print-and-digital file preparation, creative presentations, marketing and advertising, photography, and social media.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Manager is a highly organized and communicative self-starter who thrives in a culture that is creative, fast-paced, and team-oriented. This position has the opportunity to contribute to innovative marketing and communications strategies on a team that values experimentation using data-driven decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the development, design, and execution of visual concepts in a variety of paid and owned mediums, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and brand standards are met. Projects include, but are not limited to:

    • Fundraising and membership materials (invitations, direct mail pieces)

    • Promotional pieces for the brand, events, exhibitions, retail store, and seasonal or targeted campaigns (brochures, posters, flyers, postcards, rack cards)

    • Exhibition graphics and labels

    • Visitor guides and maps

    • Members' publications and program guides

    • Internal and external print and digital signage

    • Interpretation materials

    • Advertisements (print/digital ads, billboards, street banners, etc.)

    • Owned content (social media, website, and e-mail graphics)

  • Collaborates and consistently communicates with project stakeholders during the development and execution of the creative process to ensure that projects are executed in a way that meets strategic goals and objectives.

  • Selects and coordinates with outside vendors, including print vendors; obtains and processes print and other vendor estimates, being a good steward of project budget.

  • Photographs Reynolda estate and events, as needed, and coordinates with freelance photographers and videographers.

  • Tracks assigned work in ClickUp project management system.

Other Functions:

  • Uses data to inform decisions about design.

  • Maintains Reynolda's image and video library.

  • Fosters brand ambassadors across the estate through the creation of templates, sharing of brand guidelines, and design support.

  • Represents Reynolda at community events, as needed.

  • Assists Director of Marketing and Communications with other duties, as needed.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus three to five years of experience in and familiarity with graphic design, layout, digital communications and marketing, or equivalent education and related training.

  • Fluency in designing print and digital work utilizing Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Understanding of print production and final file output with ability to coordinate projects with printers and print reps.

  • Experience designing branded print collateral, print and digital advertisements, publications, and e-mail and social media graphics.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and client management skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Extremely detail-oriented, with strong ability to organize workflow and coordinate multiple concurrent activities in a high-volume environment, including the ability to set and meet realistic project timelines.

  • Proficiency in executing the visual identity of a brand.

  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment.

  • Ability to adapt to new software and propose new solutions.

  • Ability to travel locally as needed to complete signage and print production tasks and meet with vendors.

  • Creative decision-making skills; research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience shooting and editing still photography and video.

  • Familiar with Google Apps, Wordpress or other CMS, and Constant Contact or other CRM.
