Director, Advanced Analtyics

Position: The Director, Advanced Analytics role is a leadership position with the skills and experience to lead strategic analytic engagements that significantly contribute to the overall success of the Value Analytics business unit. Directs and leads a team of FTE's to produce predictive analytics and custom analyses to solve clients' complex business problems. The Director will drive success for our customers driven through analytics. Leads execution across end-to-end data, predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence use cases. Works with existing or prospective clients in order to identify, design, and recommend Change Healthcare analytical solutions, and provide follow-up consultation services, both of which may ultimately lead to a Change Healthcare product sale. Works closely with product management, engineering, services, solution design, and value team consultants to identify and analyze clients / prospects' risk adjustment opportunities to help drive financial results and optimize targets for appropriate risk-adjusted reimbursement.
Core Responsibilities: Leadership
- The Director of Analytics provides thought leadership and acts as a subject matter expert in the designing and recommending of appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing customer initiatives and key issues within the business.
- Work with leaders in key operational areas across Change Healthcare including legal, finance, product, engineering, analytics, services and sales to find opportunities to use data engineering, data science, and analytics to drive measurable business value.
- Confidently maneuvers complex problems and resolves escalated issues with a strong focus on customer relationships.
Data
- Highly skilled in transforming data and affecting business processes in order to support data governance and integrity.
- Motivates and leads the team to be stewards of the data and ensure high standards of data quality and integrity are upheld so that analytic results are reliable and robust.
- Drive an end-to-end data extract approach to consolidate and unify the data collection activities across multiple Change Healthcare Value Analytics products.
Analysis
- Develop the data analytics strategy and deliverables roadmap for enterprise clients, considering the people, process, and technology-based capabilities needed to deliver specific and measurable business value. Define and present targeted analytics solutions to lead clients in refining their strategy and content roadmap to drive additional value.
- Executes and participates in all aspects of data and analytics for Change Healthcare solutions including research, design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting and presentation development to support value analytcs objectives.
People Management
- Responsible for driving a departmental culture of innovation and continuous employee engagement. The Director of Advanced Analytics fosters collaboration and promotes an atmosphere that is focused on both team and individual career growth. Also, supports and encourages personal development of individual employees on their own career journey.
- Continually monitors internal releases and external healthcare industry news and communicates to the team to keep everyone aware of new developments that impact their day to day work.
- The Director must consider national operations and be able to recruit, develop, manage and inspire a remote, geographically dispersed team.
Requirements:
- Healthcare experience required; clinical, financial, and/or administrative experience
- Forward-thinking analytics leader who will advance programs by informing and shaping data driven strategy
- Ability to lead through ambiguity and complexity to take calculated risks to solve problems, forge new paths for growth, and achieve challenging goals. Demonstrated resilience and resourcefulness when faced with challenges or obstacles.
- Has multi-year experience in working with analytics teams to examine and specify unique solutions and provides proof of ability to work across complex business and technical teams to understand and specify technology solutions linking analytics business needs to operations
- High emotional intelligence with an outstanding ability to collaborate and partner with other business teams and executives.
- Confirmed strategic business leadership, identifying, quantifying, and pursuing new opportunities. The Director of Advanced Analytics has a high comfort with analytics and using them to make strategic business cases.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple concurrent projects using creativity, flexibility and organizational skills.
- Possesses a positive can-do attitude and demonstrates calmness and composure in times of uncertainty and stress.
- In-depth knowledge of services management related to the healthcare industry
- 10+ years working in a healthcare analytics role
- 3+ years' experience in a people management role
- 4-year degree in business or statistics or other quantitative related discipline
- MBA preferred
- Understanding of Risk Adjustment Software.
- Understanding of Predictive Analytics Solutions
- Understanding CPT codes, DRG codes, HCPCS, Diagnosis codes, and risk scoring.
- Advanced industry certifications preferred
- Solid foundation of operational, clinical and financial healthcare knowledge
- Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
- Knowledge and experience with analytics solutions using cloud-based solutions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Rapid critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid project management skills
- Expertise in SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
