Responsibilities

As a Staff Design Analysis & Simulation Engineer, you'll perform thermal, structural, and material design, development, and evaluation of vehicle and precision electronics products, assemblies, systems, and processes from concept through production stage, and make modifications as needed.

    Run product and system level thermal modeling and simulation.
  • Use industry experience, knowledge and relationships to come up with/utilize new thermal materials and cooling solutions that enables CNHi to design products that can clearly standout in the Agriculture and Construction market.
  • Perform both platform system level and detailed unit level thermal analysis on electronic assemblies (vehicle and precision electronics of various forms) by utilizing classical hand calculations and computer models using heat transfer and modern CFD simulation techniques.
  • Board level coding in Linux or equivalent to run thermal performance measurement.
  • Responsible for creating company standards for analysis techniques and scripts to reduce run times for analysis performed by yourself and other analysts.
  • Run structural analysis and design of products and system installations.
  • Perform explicit dynamics/impact analysis to simulate material damage. This can include analysis of high-speed collisions and modeling complex contacts between bodies.
  • Perform board level, unit level and system level structural analysis on assemblies using strength of material, advanced vibration, thermo-mechanical theories and also computer simulations using FEA.
  • Provide direction to mechanical, electrical, PCB designers and other analytical engineers early in the project (before PCB or metal fabrication) to minimize/eradicate thermal and structural related design issues.
  • Responsible for field data acquisition such as temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, etc. by planning and utilizing applicable instrumentation on the various platforms.
  • Analyze field data to enhance confidence in requirements and create data-backed standards to be used for future designs.
  • Present analysis, advanced materials and new product design proposals to management and executives.
  • Work with test engineer/technicians to define test setup and perform thermal/structural tests to correlate simulation with test results.
  • Generate presentations and analysis reports with emphasis on design issues and proposed fixes while meeting tight schedules and strict cost targets.
  • Create and regularly update analysis process handbook for the analysis group and also maintain and implement "lessons learnt" for designers, yourself and other analysts.
  • Work directly with lateral teams such as Mechanical, Electrical, System, PCB, Software, Test Engineers, and Industrial Design on a regular basis.
  • Perform or facilitate installation/testing related to the product, system, or process to meet Environmental/EMI/ESD/Safety requirements.

This Position pays- $109,000 - $167,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)



Qualifications

  • Advanced engineer with 8+ years of career experience, with Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable engineering discipline. 6+ years with Master's degree. 3+ years with PHD. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience preferably in the areas of electronics packaging for computers, tablets, phones, displays, avionics, marine, agriculture, construction, etc.
  • Ability to apply design theory and methodology, and assist in determining and developing requirements from specifications, oral instructions or preliminary sketches.
  • Ability to perform mechanical design using Creo, Solidworks or similar MCAD tools. Knowledge of both CAD software highly preferable.
