Responsibilities

The product owner develops requirements for the digital solutions (defines customers needs into requirements) and sets priorities for the planting software development team and precision technology & digital team.

Essential Responsibilities are:

    Understanding customer, dealer, business and market needs including CDPD work to determine customer needs.
  • Translating these needs into stories with acceptance criteria the software team/digital & PST team can develop into code
  • Prioritizing stories so the most important needs are worked on first
  • Providing regular feedback to the software team/digital & PST team on how well their product meets the needs
  • Monitoring progress and, with stakeholders, determining when software/solutions are ready for final testing and release

The focus of this position is delivering value for our customers in the form of working software/digital solutions that fulfills their most important needs. Typical actions taken to deliver this include:

  • Learning and understanding our customers
  • Defining user stories that clearly capture the customer needs for development by the software team/digital & pst team
  • Working with various stakeholders to understand and then set priorities for software development (managing the teams backlog)
  • Helping to set the validation requirements to ensure the solution met the need.
  • This position pays $91,300 to $137,500 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)


Qualifications

Requirements are:

  • Passion for understanding delivering customer value is a must
  • More than 5 years of Agricultural experience or background, the ideal candidate would have experience operating Planting equipment and understanding how customers use planters.
  • Experience using Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Experience in off-road software development and/or development of user interfaces would be very desirable
  • Software, engineering, program management and computer science degrees or equivalent experience would be considered
  • The following skills, while not required, would be assets in the position:
    • Strong networking skills
    • Experience using JIRA, Polarion, and/or Doors
    • Experience in software development, ideally Agile software development
    • Understanding of Brazilian Portuguese
    • Product Owner certification (e.g. Scrum Alliance), although training would be considered for the right individual.
    • UI/UX development
