  • Position Summary


    • The Medication Transitions Pharmacy Technician is responsible for collecting the most accurate current medication list for admitted patients in the Emergency Department and/or inpatient units. Information will be from the patient, family, pharmacy, physician office, or other facility as required. The technician documents the most accurate medication list in the electronic health record and resolves any discrepancies with the supervising pharmacist. The Medication Transitions Pharmacy Technician must have strong customer service skills, be detailed oriented, and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. This position builds on prior experience as a pharmacy technician and functions at a high level of the Pharmacy Technician Career Advancement Program.


  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    1. Education: High school diploma or GED certificate preferred. Associates Degree is preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: CPHT certificate required. Medication History Certificate is required or obtained within 1 year of hire. Currently licensed as a pharmacy technician in the State of Maine or currently eligible consistent with the current State of Maine Board of Pharmacy requirements.
    3. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years as a pharmacy technician.
    4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
    5. Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of all patients.
