SR: Deans Office - (Full- time, Day Shift) - Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The School of Religion at Loma Linda University seeks a faculty member who can effectively inspire and mentor students training for service and leadership in various healthcare fields, integrating their respective area of research specialization with the clinical world. Scholarly specialization should contribute to the Ethical Studies area of study - bioethics, professional and social ethics, law. Scholarly specialization may be complemented by two other areas of study: Theological - philosophy/theology, biblical studies, historical studies, and missiology/world religions) and Relational - spirituality, personal wholeness, and whole-person care. Training in or familiarity with the medical humanities is also desirable. Faculty teaching load is 30 credits per year (3-4 courses per quarter), including fall, winter, spring, and summer quarters in both face-to-face and on-line modalities, in addition to School and University service and scholarly activity. He or she demonstrates loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of his/her department, school, and the University, and follows the administrative policies set up by the University and the individual school. Performs other duties as needed. Master of Arts, Master of Divinity, or equivalent. Demonstrated aptitude for research and teaching, and interest in service. Member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church required. Professional certification, licensure or registration as appropriate. Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able speak in English with professional quality. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position. The salaried rate of pay will be determined commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Minimum $64,480/annually. Maximum $225,472/annually. Additional Information
