Clinical Psychologist - Inpatient

The Baylor Scott & White Medical Psychology Consultants have an immediate opening for a full-time licensed clinical psychologist to join our growing service. Based in a large, urban hospital in Dallas, TX that includes a Level I trauma center, our providers work as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team with exposure to a diverse patient population.

This provider will primarily deliver hospital-based clinical services in response to consults from medical teams including trauma and critical care, orthopedics, palliative care, transplant, OB/GYN, internal medicine, and oncology. Patients present with a variety of medical and psychiatric diagnoses, most prominently adjustment to illness or injury, difficulty with treatment adherence, coping with prolonged hospitalization, and exacerbation of premorbid psychiatric disorders. Patients may include mature adolescents, adults, elderly patients, and families of patients. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams is preferred. Other duties include providing outpatient psychotherapy and/or pre-surgical psychological evaluations (e.g., bariatric surgery, solid organ transplant), as well as opportunities for program development, supervision, and/or research activity.

Candidates for this position should have a doctorate in Clinical, Counseling, or Health Psychology from an APA-accredited program and be licensed or license-eligible in Texas. Board certification or qualification towards board certification status strongly desirable. Experience in medical, health, or rehabilitation psychology is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Health Psychology from an APA-accredited program
  • Licensed or license-eligible to practice in the state of Texas
  • ABPP board certification or qualification towards board certification status strongly desirable
