Job Summary Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring a Student Services Analyst in Financial Aid (Short Term) to work under a learning college philosophy () where learning happens anytime, anytime, anyway, any place. This position independently performs complex student service and technically demanding financial aid duties, including processing financial aid, servicing students, supervising and training staff, serving as EMCC's Veteran Affairs Financial Aid liaison, and etc. Essential Functions 40% - Provides Financial Aid assistance as the FA student service manager, responds to escalated student inquiries and to appeals/professional judgements based on detailed knowledge of financial aid regulations, policies and procedures, internal and external scholarships, and serves as Financial Aid liaison to Veterans. 20% - Processes financial aid programs and activities; coordinates office work flow and the consistent implementation of policies and procedures; assists with a diverse population of MCCCD employees, students, and the public. 10% - Development of office processing related to student service, responsible for office supplies and service, trains staff and student employees in financial aid policies, practices, procedures and guidelines. 10% - Researches/analyzes regulations for financial aid programs and communicates federal guidelines and policies. 10% Performs PeopleSoft testing, researching, troubleshooting, error identification, evaluation and coordination with the District Information Technology Department to ensure the Student Information System is properly functioning. 10% Administers financial aid or scholarship programs such as student employment, loan programs; providing requested information and preparing office practices and procedures, training and direction of students and staff.Other duties as assigned as commensurate to the grade level of the position. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of full-time equivalent student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs. OR Associater's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of full-time equivalent student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs. Desired Qualifications A. Experience maintaining, applying and communicating financial aid regulations and guidelines. B. Experience with system set up, procedure creation, staff training, problem identification and resolution in an automated financial aid system such as PeopleSoft. C. Experience leading student service, processing, compliance, and other functions of a Financial Aid team in an in person student facing FA Department.. D. Recent (within the last 12 months) experience providing general and escalated financial aid assistance to students and others via phone, email, in person, live chat, etc. Special Working Conditions Must not be in default or owe an overpayment of federal financial aid funds. EMCC is an in-person college and this position is required to work 100% on campus.
